About us
The Institute of Philosophy of the CSIC (IFS-CSIC) was created in 1986 with a clear multidisciplinary vocation, as it is not alien to anything that has to do with theory and practice, ethical issues or any problems of a social or scientific nature. It is difficult to enumerate the thematic nuclei served by the interdisciplinarity of the philosophical approach. In addition to the fields covered by the history of thought, the philosophy of science, ethics, social and political philosophy, the philosophy of culture, the theory of knowledge, the philosophy of law, the philosophy of history, the philosophy of language, the philosophy of literature or the philosophy of religion, we would also have applied ethics. feminist theory and gender studies, phenomenology, science, technology and society studies or scientific analysis, evaluation, foresight and transfer.
